Here is a company that just might make your Etsy dreams come true! Spoon Flower is a very useful website where you can take your own designs and have it printed onto fabric. Not only can you print your  own creations, but you can look through thousands of other fabrics they have turned out. The site has a useful feature that allows you to visualize the repeats in your pattern. You can choose from five different fabrics including organic cotton sateen, upholstery weight cotton, & knit. The prices range from $18 to $32 per yard & you can even purchase swatch samples before you buy yardage. Custom printed fabric is only a few brain storming sessions away. Click HERE to check it out!

lonny cover

The premiere issue of Lonny magazine is now available. If you are like me the closing of domino magazine was devastating —especially since when I purchased their latest book it was supposed to come with a free subscription! So far I can say I like Lonny equally as much as its predecessor. It has the same aesthetic, design sensibility & now it even includes more fashion along with longer articles. My ONLY complaint is that it is an online publication (at least it doesn’t make those fake page turing sound like NYLON did, yuk). There is something to be said for the tangible periodical. It is too hard to look up close at the pictures and you can’t exactly pick it up and read it any time. I’m crossing my fingers for a future print edition.

Ice Melts. Whiskey Rocks.rocks in box
A good scotch needs no diluting. These Whiskey Stones require just a few hours in the freezer and they are ready for chilling your favorite beverage. For centuries granite has been used in Scandinavia for such purposes. However, these are made with natural Vermont soapstone, a very soft material so as not to scratch the glass. Best of all they are completely reusable. Just rinse and return back to the freezer before your next soiree. A set of nine retails for around $20. Read more about the designer & the manufacturing process here.

couch

A new addition to the family! I found this love-seat at an antique store on Lorain Ave. this weekend. At $100 this was steal, especially because it is in like new condition. Take that hours of searching on Craig’s List! I guess you find the things you need when you stop looking for them.

Here is an except from the 1958 edition of Good Housekeeping’s Book of Breads & Sandwiches. Not only does it serve as some good party or picnic inspiration, it is an adorable illustration.

Picture 6pillow roundup
While searching for fabric I stumbled on these pillows by textile designer, Thomas Paul. They are quirky and yet sophisticated. I love that they can be mixed and matched seamlessly with the other pillows from his line. For inspiration browse his web site and visit the Velocity online boutique to purchase. Sometimes I forget it is possible to completely change the look of a room with different accent pillows. In other words, redecorate in a snap and still have time for a nap.

As you know just about anything your heat desires can be found on Etsy, but did you know they have furniture too? These photos are from SpruceHome, a great shop that sells refurbished vintage furniture. Please peruse their shop, I feel sure you will fall in love with their combination of carved wood and ultra-modern graphic prints. Even if you have no room in your home (or wallet) for these pieces, you can choose one as a muse for your next project.
